Really, there are few things better than a sweet, juicy watermelon!
MB's parents found a Black Diamond watermelon. Apparently, it's one of those old original types of melon, and, oh my! It was SO delicious! Humongous, too. I was amazed at the size of that thing. The seeds were twice the size of your average watermelon seed, and there seemed to be fewer of them. Half of that melon was the size of your typical grocery store melon. And sweeter, too....
So, if you're hot, and a bit overwhelmed by summer, go get one. If you can take a little extra time to drive out into the country, or visit a Farmer's Market, and get one fresh off the back of some good ol' boy's truck, even better!
Then, find somewhere with some grass, kick off your shoes, and grab a slice. Just see if the taste of the melon on your tongue, and the feel of those sweet, sticky juices dripping off your chin won't inspire some feelings of relaxation.
And just for good measure...try and see just how far you can spit one of those seeds!

I LOVE watermelon!!! While Kevin was at camp they had a watermelon eating contest. He was eating some of the left overs and had an allergic reaction to it. He said his throat started closing. The nurse gave him 4 benydrls and he was fine. It is weird because he has never been allergic before. Anyways now you have me wanting watermelon. LOL
